STATEMENT FROM THE VERONICA L. SACCO FOUNDATION RE: DEFENDANT’S MOTION TO DISMISS “STAND YOUR GROUND IMMUNITY MOTION”
The State of Florida has announced its decision regarding the defendants claim that he committed this violent act of Murder in an attempt to protect his life and requested dismissal of the Murder 1 charge.
THE COURT ORDERED:
The Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss was DENIED.
The Trial will proceed on January 13, 2025
ORLANDO, Fla. September. 30, 2024
Since the defendant’s initial claim of self-defense, the Foundation and the Sacco Family has vigorously opposed this ridiculous claim. In addition to the brutal murder of Veronica, the defendant continues to inflict real pain and emotional suffering on Veronica’s family with his unsubstantiated claims.
The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court for Orange County, FL heard this motion on August 19,2024. It has been a 40-month battle (so Far) to secure “Justice for Veronica” and some peace for her Family. The entire four- page decision is posted on the Orange County Clerk of Courts Criminal Division.
The Family and the Foundation wish to thank all those who have been support of us and the Foundation’s mission!
