Shelter Services

Every shelter is different, however, you can expect that:

Shelters are free – no fees are charged to stay > Some shelters have computers so you can check email

Most shelters have shared kitchens, common areas and bathrooms > You will be expected to honor the privacy of other residents

A family with children will probably share one bedroom > Shelters have laundry facilities and supply linens (sheets, towels and blankets)

If you are alone, you may have to share a room > Shelters generally have emergency food, clothing and toiletries available

Visitors are generally allowed > Shelters can be stressful-it is group living with others experiencing tough times
